The Specialty Care Center for Women Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) Totana will have the extension of the time provide professional thanks to a grant from the Department of Family and Equal Opportunities the City of Totana .

This assistance is made pursuant to an amendment made to the budgets of the Autonomous Community to increase the budget allocation to municipalities for shelters for victims of domestic violence, amounting to 154,075 euros to extend the working hours of the professional services.

Councilwoman Human Resources, Gertrudis Ruiz, reported that this grant allows the psychologist pass have 25 hours per week to 30, social worker spends 18 to 20 hours and the legal adviser of 12 to 14 hours;

allowing lead to the improvement and expansion of services that have been paying in the CAVI.

He explains that the grant awarded for the CAVI was 48,353 euros in 2015, with the grant received in 2016 of 56,394.50 euros and assuming an increase in aid of 8041.50 euros for the remainder of the year.

This grant is awarded in the order of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities municipalities of the Region of Murcia by the direct award procedure for the provision of services and programs to care for women victims of gender violence.

The purpose of this aid is to assist women victims of gender violence in the sphere of influence of CAVI from the legal, social and psychological approach, according to the action protocols and coordination of the Ministry;

provide individual and group therapy for abused women and carry out awareness and prevention activities against gender violence.

The mayor welcomed the budget increase of this heading and added that this increase is due to the amendment of its day to the budgets of the region and the work being done by the City of Totana through policies combating gender violence.
