A total of 26 users of the Day Centre for Persons with Mental Illness Totana City Council visited the premises of the confectioner local company "Vigala", an activity that is part of the school plan, which aims to meet the industries and companies the region.
The visit to the company has been guided by factory employees, who have shown the machinery used in each of the stages of production, emphasizing the high mechanization of it, to the point of producing large quantities of sweets per minute, allowing adapt to market demand and serving products to supermarket chains like "Day" or "Consum".
Users have observed in situ the process by which passes the high quality pastry that is made on the premises, basically processed food products with mass of fermented flour, subjected to an appropriate heat treatment.
Attendees were able to see the two types of pastries produced in the factory: ordinary pastries, no padding or lining of any kind;
and pastries stuffed or garrisoned, before or after suitable heat treatment, have been filled or garnished with different sweet foods.
After the visit, the company has presented the group with a tasting of their products.
Vigala is a company founded in 1990 and specialized in manufacturing high quality pastries.
Today it has expanded its facilities to meet demand nationwide and has more than twenty employees in its workforce.
