The rehabilitation works of the Ginés Rosa Theater of the Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel" focus these weeks on the arrangement and conditioning of the roof of this infrastructure, according to sources from the Department of Urban Planning and Infrastructure.
These actions are financed in the framework of the Works and Services Plan for the annuities of the years 208/2019 promoted by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration and the City of Totana.
The works are being undertaken by the company "Pyco Proyectos Constructivos, SL", with headquarters in San Javier;
and they have an award amount of 190,733.51 euros and a term of execution of five months.
This action is carried out under this program together with the coverage works of the sports court and complementary works of the CEIP "San José" amounting to 180,307.35 euros, which is being undertaken by the totanera company "Servimar 2008, SL".
The building dates from the 19th century, restored between 1983 and 1989;
and it is a cataloged property of grade 1 that is in good general condition, with the area destined to the theater having the most relevant deficiencies.
In the auditorium there are moisture stains on the false ceiling plates, even the detachment of some of them, coming from the water leaking from the roof.
The interior linings, floors and seats also have important deficits to favor the conditions of habitability and comfort of the users.
Thus, the roof and the false ceiling affected by the humidity will be repaired;
work will be undertaken to clean the interior lining (carpet) and the pavements of the theater and the stage itself will be renewed by a synthetic flooring, in addition to the existing seats by others with better comfort characteristics.
The installation of the lighting system of the infrastructure will also be improved through an increase in power and the incorporation of new more sophisticated technological elements.
Projects chosen by the neighbors
These two projects, the rehabilitation of the Ginés Rosa Theater and the coverage of the CEIP San José, were the projects most supported by the neighbors in the telematic public consultation carried out in 2018 by the councils of Citizen Participation and Services to the City and Infrastructures , respectively.
The total budget for both annuities amounted to almost 460,000 euros, of which 430,000 euros are financed by the Autonomous Community, under a grant of 215,000 euros in 2018 and another for the same amount in 2019;
and the remaining 22,500 euros are contributed by the Totanero Consistory.
The Works and Services Plan 2018/2019 has a multi-year nature, covering the expenditure commitment of the Autonomous Community for the amount corresponding to the two annuities, which will allow the possibility of reuse of the remainders that are generated.
