The City of Totana strongly condemns and shows its institutional rejection in what allegedly may be a new case of sexist violence in the municipality of Salas de los Infantes Burgos.
A woman of about 28 years died yesterday after being attacked allegedly by a man - already detained - with a knife in a house in this Castilian municipality of Leon.
As confirmed by the Civil Guard, it is a new case of sexist violence.
The confessed aggressor is 39 years old and both he and the victim are of Bulgarian nationality.
Also, police sources have indicated that both had children in common and that the aggressor had a history of violence in the family, of the year 2011 in the province of Soria.
The deceased had integrated the candidacy of a political party in the last municipal elections of May 26 and her house had suffered a fire eight days ago.
The woman, of Bulgarian origin and resident in the municipality for 15 years, and was "very integrated" into the cultural life of the town.
From the totanero Consistory emphasizes the need to work together to stop and end this social scourge so it insists on the need to raise awareness from education to avoid behavior that incites inequality between men and women.
Against gender violence we have to make a common front of "Zero Tolerance";
because not only do we have to remember the people who die murdered at the hands of their partners, but also all those who suffer every day in their homes any kind of physical or psychological violence.
