The plenary hall of the Totana City Council yesterday hosted the Local Government Board of the Commonwealth Tourism of Sierra Espuña in order to address issues of general interest that affect this body to promote the regional park, and chaired by the current mayor of Totana , Andrés García.

In it also participated mayors and councilors of tourism of the municipalities together, in this case, Totana, Alhama de Murcia, Pliego, Aledo, Mula and Librilla;

who also took stock of the actions carried out by this entity during the celebration of the International Tourism Fair 2019, which was held last week in Madrid.

Among other matters, the basis for the selection of a worker for the subsidized project within the Local Public Employment-PLD program was approved, as well as the renewal of the service commission of an official.

In the same way, the request for the opening of the Cultural Interest Property (BIC) file of the Sierra de Espuña Pozos de la Nieve complex was approved.

Apparently, the Autonomous Community is already taking steps to declare BIC these stone structures that between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries provided ice in spring to the cities of Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Orihuela.

The Murcia Ecoproyecta study, specialized in architecture and sustainable urban planning, has been commissioned by the Directorate General of Cultural Assets, under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, to draft the Master Plan, the necessary document to start the file.

Distributed in two sets located in the shade of Morrones de Totana and Alhama, these structures consist of large cylindrical excavations that were covered with a dome.

All the wells are located at the height of 1,350 meters except one: the one of las Animas, at 1,110, in the upper area of ​​Valle de Leyva and the only one in Alhama terms;

the rest belong to the municipality of Totana.

The Board of Governors of the Commonwealth also dealt with the reports of actions of the Agroeconatura Association and the Ecotourism Association of Spain, as well as the approval of cats and various bills.
