The Local Government Board has agreed to grant a grant of 6,000 euros to the IES Juan de la Cierva de Totana for maintenance fee of International Baccalaureate (BI) in compliance with the agreement of January 25, 2005.
The proposal of the Councilor for Education, Eulalia Moreno, states that the IES must submit to the Totanero Consistory a report justifying the subsidized activity, as usual, before June 28, 2019.
The IES "Juan de la Cierva" of Totana offers the BI modality since the 2005/2006 academic year and since its inception the City Council has participated, together with other entities and companies, in its maintenance.
After the implementation of this program for several years, it is noted that the academic results of the young people who have developed it have been highly positive and has resulted not only in the benefit of the students themselves but also extends to the entire educational community.
Therefore, the Department of Education considers it of interest to continue this collaboration given that the commitment to educational excellence means an investment for the future in the medium and long term.
