The Department of Culture organizes, within the program of cultural activities of the festivities of Santiago Apostle, the III Evening of Habaneras and Popular Songs to be held on Friday, July 27, at 9:30 p.m., in the auditorium of the park municipal "Marcos Ortiz".
The Councilor for Culture, Eulalia Moreno, and representatives of the three participating groups, Alfonso Gallego, Miguel Giménez and Silvestre Cánovas, recently presented this cultural event with which they intend to recover the celebration of this traditional activity within the festivities of Santiago.
The evening will feature the performance of the groups "Cuerdas y Voces de Totana", "Amigos de la Habanera" and "Coral Santiago".
The councilor explained that this contest is intended, coinciding with the celebration of the Centennial of the City, to recover and maintain the musical tradition that Havanans have in Totan and hold a contest that allows to recall the regional and national character that were celebrated before in this era of the year.
