The Department of Sports and Education of the City of Totana have made an institutional recognition to the students of the different educational centers of Totana that have obtained good results in the regional program of School Sports during the course 2017/2018.
The event was held in the plenary hall and was attended by the mayor, Andrs Garca, and the councilors responsible for both matters, Isabel Mara Molino and Eulalia Moreno, respectively;
At the time it had representatives of the educational communities, family and sports clubs of the municipality.
During the recognition the sporting trajectory of the schools that have managed to be regional champions of this program in different sports disciplines, as well as the athletes who achieved this achievement in the framework of this regional project was recognized.
In general, the team sports competitions take place every season, coinciding with the school year, in three phases: 1) Local Phase, organized by the City Council;
2) Intermunicipal phase, organized by the city councils corresponding to Group 1 (Águilas, Alhama, Aledo, Librilla, Mazarrn and Totana), and where the champions of their respective local phase participate;
and 3) Final Phase, organized by the General Directorate of Sports, and where the champions of each intermunicipal group can participate.
As for the individual sports, municipal, intermunicipal, regional and regional final phases are held, whose system of competition, classification and calendar will be established by the General Direction of Sports once the participation is known.
Thus, the number of participating athletes and teams is established by each City Council in the Municipal Phase and the General Directorate of Sports in the Intermunicipal and Regional Final phases, according to the organizational criteria.
