The Department of Public Safety, through the Local Police, will resume before the end of the school year the information campaign on basic rules for pedestrians and cyclists through urban and interurban roads that is aimed primarily at schoolchildren in the municipality.
Precisely, the Department published at the end of last school year informative leaflets in order to improve road safety as part of an awareness campaign promoted by the Local Police, in compliance with a plenary agreement last January.
These leaflets will be distributed again in the ten schools of Totana and in the two IES, as well as in all the public information boards distributed by the municipality, according to sources from the Local Police Headquarters.
This initiative is encouraged coinciding with the end of the school year in the educational centers of Totana, since it is basically aimed at schoolchildren in the municipality but also at the general public.
The informative brochures collect recommendations on basic norms in the case of the pedestrian as well as the cyclist for the suitable crossing of streets and traffic lights, the crossing of roads, the nocturnal circulation, et cetera.
In the case of the cyclist, recommendations are also offered on the use of the helmet, the circulation of the bicycle by the urban helmet and the road, the group circulation and at night, the obligations of the cyclist and the signaling of the bicycle, between other issues.
