The Municipal Sports Center "December 6" hosted last Saturday, April 28, the Local Phase of School Sports Athletics, organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Totana, which involved a total of 60 schoolchildren from different schools of teaching of the locality, pertaining to the categories alevín, cadet and juvenile, in the modality of equipment.
In this school competition, participating students had the opportunity to compete in five different modalities of athletics: long jump, shot put, speed race, endurance race and relay race.
In the masculine alevín category, the Reina Sofía School won the first place, followed by the La Cruz and San José schools, which occupied the second and third positions respectively.
In the female juvenile category, the Reina Sofía A School finished in first place, the Reina Sofía B School being second, and the San José A. School third. In the cadet and juvenile male categories, the IES Prado senior managed to climb to the highest level. highest on the podium.
The event concluded with the delivery of trophies and medals to the first three teams classified in each of the categories, by the Councilor for Finance of the City of Totana, Ana María Cánovas.
In addition, the champion team of each of the categories will have the possibility of participating in the Regional Final of Athletics of School Sports, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, and that will take place on the next days 11 and 12 of May, in Yecla.
