The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and Council Member of Celebration, Josefa María Sánchez Méndez, and the Board of the Center, have proceeded to the closing of the various workshops were held in the Municipal Center for the Elderly with the presentation of diplomas to more than 210 participants.
The event, which has developed in the Plenary Hall of the Ayuntamiento de Totana, has also benefited from the presence of the monitors of the activities taking place as well as technicians of the municipal department.
Different workshops have been developing throughout the year in this center have been the course of Introduction to New Technologies, Crafts & Embroidery Workshop, Classroom Literacy, Ballroom Dancing Workshop, the Training Workshop Memory and Fitness for Seniors.
This program of activities provides access to culture, education, exercise, new technologies and the training of members of the Centre, to improve social integration by promoting personal autonomy and quality of life the people using the same.
Totanero Mayor explained that the organization of these coppices have sought the active participation of older people in activities that are to their liking in order to maintain their physical and mental abilities, preventing or delaying the possible deterioration and loss of autonomy causes age .
Also, through these training activities have attempted to provide access to culture, education and training, and exercise among older people.
These workshops will end later this month and during June, and will continue as every year in October.
Also, as a novelty, this year's Summer Program, in addition to traditional leisure and free time for the holidays for the Elderly and trips to the beach, will be offered computer courses and classroom-free access Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 13:00, during the months of June, July and September.
