The full City Council approved at its regular meeting on the afternoon of yesterday with the favorable votes of the PP and IU + Greens, and against the PSOE, the proposal submitted by the Department of Social Welfare and Citizenship to show their rejection of the measures proposed by the Government to reduce the government deficit to be obvious cuts such as social rights especially damaging to people and most vulnerable in our society.
Also, through this proposal seeks to require the rectification of these measures and cuts as well as enhancement of financial support that the Government should pay to the municipalities in these times of economic crisis to address especially the needs of disadvantaged groups and individuals .
Similarly, they urge the Government of Spain to develop policies for public expenditure savings that meet the criteria of equality, redistribution, equity, proportionality and social justice, given the difficult situation in which there are many individuals and families.
In the same vein, was approved with the votes for the PP and IU + Greens and abstention, some of the measures presented by IU to show rejection of the City of actions taken by the Government.
Among the measures adopted is the refusal to freeze pensions, support maternity aid, the maintenance and improvement of aid for development cooperation and the maintenance of contributions to local government and public investment and union mobilization support for the economic crisis will not pay the weakest.
In addition, the amendment was adopted by the PP to urge the government of Spain to policy development expenditure savings.
Similarly, fashion, corporate unanimously approved two proposals submitted by the Municipal People's Party for the local government reform and new funding model and for actions relating to the commemoration of International Year of Biodiversity 2010.
On another issues, also unanimously agreed the proposal submitted by the Department of Social Welfare for the creation and implementation in the municipality of Municipal Family Mediation Service to expedite the resolution of conflicts, given the existing court congestion, among other issues may be addressed.
