The Municipal People's raise a motion to the full for the month of May in which we propose a series of actions to safeguard the City totanero promote biodiversity all framed in commemorating the International Year of Biodiversity 2010.
With this initiative the Consistory will use the International Year of Biodiversity to improve public awareness of the importance of safeguarding biodiversity and also on the underlying threats to biodiversity by promoting awareness locally.
It will promote nature conservation in the municipality through proper initiatives for biodiversity conservation.
Also increase, measures of their abilities, the dissemination of the achievements of activities already completed or are under development within the municipality, to promote innovative solutions to reduce threats to biodiversity.
This initiative will encourage residents and organizations operating at the municipal level to participate and take the necessary immediate measures to halt biodiversity loss.
Among other things, the City will monitor the dialogue, post-2010 targets on biodiversity and the measures to be taken in the period after 2010, to incorporate in their agenda as a priority.
These initiatives are intended to take this celebration to highlight the importance of biological diversity in human life, reflect on our achievements in nature conservation and highlight the need to redouble our efforts to significantly reduce the rate of loss biodiversity that exists in the world, urging everyone to work to safeguard it.
